Response-1 After carefully reading the case study, I noted that John Compton, who is the president of the company, needs the executive members of the company to formulate the project management methodology. I do believe that if the company needs to effectively implement the Enterprise Project management (EPM), the use of the Project Management Office (PMO) will greatly accelerate the implementation process. The key role of the PMO will be to help the project managers to effectively define their entire delivery framework. To fasten the implementation of the project management methodology PMO will play an important role. Some of the other roles that PMO will play in the project management methodology implementation process are to make sure that the organizational projects and programs succeed (Brian & Monique, 2010). In addition, it will also assist in maintaining the standards of the project management in the company.

Considering that the company has already selected the members that make up the PMO that includes a handful of experienced project managers this is important to start with for the implementation process. It will be the role of these chosen managers to effectively select the candidate projects that are aligned with the company strategic goals and objectives. In addition to the PMO as the company implement the project management methodology they will be able to effectively and accurately allocate resources to all the company’s projects (Brian & Monique, 2010). In addition, the project managers selected will be able to manage the priorities of the projects based on the budget, resources, and timelines. Moreover, the PMO also will assist in defining the roles and responsibility of every individual involved in the project. Generally to boost the implementation process of the project management methodology the use of the project management office will play an important role and the company should consider employing it effectively.
