UMT Network Infrastructure Administration and Network Administration Project
This course presents the principles and practices of network administration. Students will evaluate and recommend specific IT infrastructure processes and current best practices in areas such as network configuration, user management, backup management, high-reliability, and system security. Network issues such as UNIX interoperability, addressing, and routing are examined.
- Design a domain structure for an organization and plan its implementation using a directory service such as Active Directory.
- Evaluate basic network administration processes from a technical perspective and a business perspective.
- Research the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and recommend a solution to a specific case study problem in an area such as user management, backup management, system security, network design, etc.
- Select and recommend network security policies and procedures as they are used in computer networks.
