ENGL101 Grossmont College MBTI Personality Assessment Test

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality assessment that will reveal to you your personality type.  Your results may indicate how you observe your world and make decisions based on your perceptions.  You will be required to complete the MBTI assessment test online.  You will then have an opportunity to interpret your results and explore careers that compliment your personality type.  To complete the assignment, you will need to take the online assessment (see link below),  and answer four questions regarding your results and interpretation of your results.

-Step 4

Please answer the following four questions using complete sentences.  Create a Word document and submit your assignment.

1) What is your four-letter MBTI personality type?  What does each letter of your MBTI stand for (Example: I stands for Introversion, etc.)?  Do you agree or disagree with your assessment results?  Why or why not?

2) In what ways do you see each letter of your MBTI exercised in your daily life?  (Example: As an ISFP, I realize I am an I when I need more time to reflect before answering a question aloud in class.  As an S, I am super detailed oriented.  I am an F when I worry how my decisions will affect others around me.  As a J (planner), my boyfriend needs at least two weeks notice of a trip to Disneyland, where I am more of a P (spontaneous) who can go with less than a one day’s notice.)

3) What other characteristics from your MBTI do you think really describe your personality?  Your answers should reflect the information found in the assigned readings for this week.

4) What are suggested careers or career fields that support your MBTI?  Use the information you gathered from the assigned readings (Introduction to Type in College and Personality Page) to list what careers would be a good fit for your personality type.  Do you like any of the careers that were suggested for your MBTI?  Why or why not?
