Assessment is the fundamental tool for course and curriculum revision. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) recommends a range of 3–5 years for a complete curriculum review, revision, and or overhaul (CCNE, 2012). Since NCLEX-RN pass rates for at least three years of graduating classes are important in evaluating the curriculum, different time frames are required for different degree programs. Research the literature to support the above statement on how often a nursing curriculum and the courses within it should be assessed and or revised. Compare and contrast the different time frames for curriculum review and or revision for the different nursing degree programs.

This week we will be focusing on assessment within a new nursing program. Both a needs assessment and using assessment as a tool for course and curriculum revision will be the focus. Please make sure you fully support all text with EBP.
