As we conclude the course, this week focuses on the humanistic perspective of personality, with special focus on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Maslow’s theory focuses on a unique perspective of personality and is based on motivation.

Take a moment to refresh your understanding of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

  • Maslow’s pyramid consists of five needs. Which of those do you think it most important to the overall well-being of an individual? What is the difference between a need and a want? Please share an example. Finally, how would you explain self-actualization? Do you think every individual is able to reach self-actualization? Why or why not?
