Spiritual Foundations of Leadership

This paper is designed to be an integrative exercise in which you will draw from specific reading assignments, scripture, personal reflection, and class lectures.

McNeal writes that “God shapes the heart of the leader through the call. This call is a divinely orchestrated setting apart of the Leader for some special task” (p. 95). Smith (2008), writes that “…In responding to the call of God on our lives, nothing is so important, nothing is more central than coming to terms with our selves” (p. 51).

Write a paper in which you extrapolate your calling as it pertains to your life purpose, what God is setting you apart for. Reflect on how coming to terms with your identity in Christ is significant in responding to that call. Review the chart on Orphan vs Sonship as a way to evaluate your sense of identity in Christ. Discuss how your beliefs concerning sonship will be reflected in your call as a leader.

Draw your insights from the assigned reading and appropriate Scripture. Prepare your paper in the APA format using Microsoft Word.

In your paper you will demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach to analytical problem solving; analysis/research, communications and ongoing development for leading, managing, serving and ministering; this paper should then integrate knowledge and understanding of God’s work; past, present, and future within the context of a Christian worldview.
