Friendship
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, first published in 1876, The story happens in the 19th century half century Mississippi River at a common small town in the United States. The hero Tom Sawyer is innocent and lively, dare to adventure, freedom, unbearable bound individual character and the boring life, always dream to be a hero. The story happens before the civil war, in the town of Hannibal, but the town can be said to be a microcosm of American society at that time.
Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn are the two most important characters. Tom and Huck are completely different from each other. Both of them have their own opinions and ideas. They like freedom and following their own way to live. Tom Sawyer is a smart and active boy and rich sense of justice. Huck Finn is unconstrained and like freedom. They love adventures. They finding the lost treasure, following Injun Joe in the city of the dead, and they almost killed when they are lost in the cave. They are really greatness. They face the troubles together and solve them together.
When I finish reading Tom Sawyer, I think the friendship in Harry Potter is same to the Tom’s. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are good friends in the novel. Harry has a lot of troubles after his parents died. Ron and Hermione help him to face the troubles. They also have problems in their friendship. For example, at the seventh book, Ron and Hermione argue about something. Then Ron runs away. Ron realizes his mistakes, he uses magic to go back to Harry and Hermione. Their friendship is also greatness. They face the troubles together, enjoy their happy life together. At last, they win the war and save the world. They always think about others, they are not selfishness. They can use their life to help others. They are also greatness.
In my opinion, friendship is one of the most difficult things to get. There are too many problems and troubles in this relationship. Some friends are true friends, for example, when you are in a big trouble, you need money and help, some of your friends will help you, but some will not. The people that help you are your true friends. There still a problem, maybe there are some friends help you for more money. They want to get more. I think the true friends are helping without report back on what has been done. When I was in Grade 8, my friend, Tom had a trouble about money. He needed about 300 RMB. I lend him 200 RMB. Another friend, Jack lend him 100 RMB. Tom couldn’t give the money back on time. I didn’t care when he gave me the money, but Jack was very mean. He asked Tom to give money back in three days. Tom couldn’t get enough, so I lend him 100 RMB to help. Tom spent a lot of money when he went out to play with Jack, but Jack didn’t spend too much. So most of the money was paid by Tom. When Tom was in trouble, he didn’t help Tom a lot. This is not a true friend.
When you want a lot of true friends, you should pay attention to your friends and sincerely. If you don’t, your friends will not make friends with someone don’t sincere. You need to help your friends when they are in trouble if you can. In China, we have a proverb” You have to pay for the returns”. If you can’t help your friends when they have problems, you can give them some good ideas to help him. It’s a good way to help them. I think most of the Chinese will be more mature when they are in high school than other countries. Some students will play effort on you to get money or something. So having some true friends is difficult in China. This will just happen in high school and university, or middle school. You must learn how to distinguish good and bad people when you are staying alone. You must have some true friends or you will be hurt when you are in trouble.
In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom, Becky, and Huck are good friends, they always help each other. They are true friends. In Harry Potter, when Harry Potter met the bad guys, most of his friends helped him, that because he helped them a lot. For example, when all the bad guys want to kill Harry Potter, all the members of The order of Phoenix help him to escape from Lord Voldemort and his bad team. Some members hurt and some die. But they don’t regret, Harry is their friends and he can help them to win the war and save the world. This is same in the schools and companies even in relatives. But it will be not someone dies.
