Overview

The goal of this assignment is for you to reflect critically on the content of ONE of the Modules we have studied during the course of the summer and research other sources that eithersupplement (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (to completes or add to) or complement (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (to complete or make better) the topic of the module.

This assignment is digital in that it asks you to hyperlink your sources within the body of the essay (see word definitions above as an example). In this way, your essay contains within it the original material to which you are referring, both the assigned sources and those you find on your own.

This criterion is linked to a Learning Outcome Underlined thesis/argument

For an A range grade

The underlined sentence clearly makes an argument about the significance of the chosen articles or sources BOTH 1. a Module from the class AND some of its assigned materials. Explains HOW the thesis works, and WHY it’s important.

For a B range grade

The underlined sentence offers a surface-level argument about the chosen articles. Explains connection between that article and 1. a Module from the class and some of its assigned materials WITHOUT adding anything new.

For a C range grade

The underlined sentence doesn’t make an argument, but merely summarizes or describes in general terms what the chosen article says about journalism.
