A research proposal is intended to illustrate that you have a worthwhile
research project and that you have the work-plan to complete it.
Your research proposal should contain all the key elements involved in
the research process and include sufficient information for me to
evaluate the proposed study.
Regardless of your research area and the methodology you choose, all research proposals must address the following questions:
a. What is your topic?
b. What is your thesis? What do you plan to prove or illustrate in your paper?
c. Why you want to write on this topic?
d. How you are going to do it? Specifically, what resources to you
intend to use? For example, will you research mostly case law and legal
articles written on those cases and your topic?
Please be as specific as possible in this proposal. This assignment will
give you a good foundation to use to start the process of research,
outlining and writing your paper.
here are some topic suggestions…
The Polygraph: the Truth about Lie Detectors
The Patriot Act
Rape Shield Laws
Here are some that I would find interesting based on current events/caselaw (just from a quick perusal of cnn.com – I’m sure you can also find some good stuff!):
Charging parents in child gun discharge cases (current case where father was charged when son shot another child with father’s unsecured gun)
Allowing victims of domestic abuse to sue their abusers in civil court
Weird and random laws that have unanticipated results: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/tripping/wp/2016/10/06/clowns-beware-masks-can-be-illegal-in-virginia-as-a-biker-found-out-before-he-changed-the-law/
New CA law on intoxicated rape victims
Please let me know if you have any questions. im cool with whatever you choose.. after all you are the clutch player in this lol
